CHICKEN FRY (GREEN)
We already know a lot of varieties of chicken fry
Today, let's see a different variety of chicken fry called green chicken fry
In this recipe, we will not be using chilli powder at all.
Green chillies instead of chilli powder will be used
Chop the onions and tomatoes
Grind the tomato pieces into a paste
Let's prepare masala now
To a mixie jar, add half of chopped onions, 7-8 green chillies, ginger pieces, garlic cloves, 2 teaspoons coriander seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, whole garam masala - shahjeera, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks, cashew-nuts, 1 cup coriander leaves, salt to taste and grind it into a paste
Mixing this masala with chicken and marinating it for 30 minutes will give a nice flavor to the chicken
But since I don't have time, I will not be marinating the chicken today
Heat 1 tablespoon butter in pan
Oil also could be used instead
Add the rest of the chopped onions and fry
Close lid and fry till they change colour
Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder and mix
Add tomato paste and mix
Cook till oil starts to float on the tomato puree
Add the chicken now
If the chicken is marinated, add it as it is or else just add chicken
Close lid and cook on high flame till water coming out of the chicken boils away
Add prepared paste and mix
If the chicken is marinated, cook till the curry becomes thick
Add a little water
1/2 glass water will be enough
Cook till the gravy thickens for atleast 15-20 minutes
Stir and cook
Fry till the consistency is as dry as desired
Cut off the stove
Serve hot with rice or roti!
