Let’s see how to make tasty kid’s breakfast recipe – Mini Masala Idli
Here I used regular idli batter. There will be a link in the description box for the video on how to make idli batter
We need to make idlis now
Unlike the regular idlis, here I used a plate for smaller idlis.
Spread oil on the plates and pour the idli batter
Cook the idlis in a pressure cooker or idli cooker
Pour water in the cooker, place the idli plates and close lid without the gasket or weight(whistle)
Cook on high flame for 5 minutes and then on medium flame for the next 10 minutes
Let the cooker cool down and open the lid
Move all the mini idlis into a bowl
These mini masala idlis could be made by chopping up the big idlis also, but making them with these small idlis will make them much more interesting to eat
Heat 1 1/2 tablespoon oil in pan
Add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 teaspoons bengal gram, 1 teaspoon black gram and fry
Fry till the grams change colour
Then add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 cup curry leaves and fry
Also add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder and mix
Here I added curry leaves powder. Any other masala powder like idli karam podi or sambar powder could also be used
If any of these are not available, then add coriander seeds powder
Add 1 1/2 teaspoon curry leaves powder
Add prepared idlis and mix
Then add coriander leaves and fry
Mini masala idlis are ready
Instead of small idlis, you can chop up the normal sized idlis to make the masala idlis
Mini masala idlis are ready to serve!
