- 2 Cups Basmati Rice
- 300 Grams Cottage Cheese
- 3 Onions
- 1/2 Cup Curd
- 1/2 Cup Coriander Leaves
- 1/2 Cup Mint Leaves
- 1/2 Cup Boiled Peas
- 1/2 Cup Carrots
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Chilli Powder
- 1 Tablespoons Cumin Seeds Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 2 Teaspoons Coriander Seeds Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 3 Small Pieces Cinnamon Sticks
- 3 Cardamom
- 5 Cloves
- 1 Teaspoon Shahjeera
- 3 Bay Leaves

Paneer Biryani Recipe, Learn to make paneer biryani with step by step video
Paneer Biryani Recipe a super delicious Indian rice entree. Perfect to make for lunch any day of the week, but more so on the holidays and weekends.
1. Soak basmati rice for 1/2 hour
2. Here I cut 300 grams cottage cheese into pieces
3. Fry the cottage cheese pieces (This step is optional)
4. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in pan
5. Fry the cottage cheese pieces till they brown, Move them into a plate
6. Dice the onions and fry till they turn brown, They need to be deep fried
7. Heat oil in a pan and fry onions on high flame till they turn brown
Move them into a plate
8. Cottage cheese pieces need to be marinated first
9. To a bowl, add 1 cup curd.
10. Beat it till it becomes smooth
11. Add 2 teaspoons chilli powder, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt or salt to taste,
2 teaspoons coriander seeds powder, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds powder,
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder,
1 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and mix
12. Add fried paneer and mix,
13. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice and mix
14. Add 2 tablespoons oil and mix
15. Add 2 green chillies, 1/2 of the fried onions,
1/2 of the coriander leaves, 1/2 of the Mint leaves, boiled peas,
carrots, any other vegetables and mix
16. Let it sit for 15 minutes
17. Letís prepare rice in the meantime
18. Fill more than half of the pan with water
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon oil, whole garam masala and
close lid
19. Let the water boil
20. Add soaked rice and mix
21. Let the rice cook till up to 70%
22. Drain off the water
23. Take a pan with thick base
Spread 2 tablespoons clarified butter (ghee) on the base of the pan
Spread a layer of 1/2 of cooked rice on the bottom
24. Add the marinated cottage cheese pieces next
25. Add a layer of fried brown onions on top of it, Add Mint leaves and
coriander leaves, Spread another of rice and sprinkle coriander
leaves and Mint leaves
26. Add brown onions and 2 tablespoons clarified butter (ghee)
Add 1/2 cup water to the bowl used to marinate paneer and add this
water the rice
27. Close the lid tightly or put a weight on it
28. Make a wheat flour dough and seal off any holes
29. Heat the pan for 5 minutes on low flame
30. Put another pan below the biryani pan after 5 minutes and cook for
10 minutes on high flame
31. Cook for 15 minutes on low flame
32. Cut off the stove and open the lid after 10 minutes
Serve hot with gravy or raita
