INGREDIENTS

1. Onions - 3

2. Tomatoes - 4

3. Dried Chillies - 9-10 

4. Garlic Cloves - 5

5. Black Gram - 2 Tablespoons

6. Bengal Gram - 2 Tablespoons

7. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon

8. Fenugreek Seeds - 1/4 Teaspoon

9. Tamarind - 10 Grams

10. Salt - 1 1/2 Teaspoon

11. Tempering Seeds Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan. Ad 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds, 2 tablespoons black gram, 2 tablespoons bengal gram and mix. As they start to slightly change colour, add dried chilli. Fry till dried chillies change colour and move them into a different plate. To the same pan, add 1 teaspoon oil. Add diced onions and fry. Add 1 teaspoon salt. As they start to change colour, add tomato pieces. Fry till tomato pieces become soft. Close the lid so that the tomatoes cook faster. After tomatoes become soft, add 10 grams washed tamarind and cut off the stove. Let the tomato mixture cool down. To a mixie jar, add fried dried chillies and seeds mixture, 1/2 teaspoon salt, fried onion tomato mixture and grind it into a soft paste. For tempering; Heat a pan and add 2 teaspoon oil. Add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, pieces of 2 dried chillies, 5-6 crushed garlic cloves, 1/2 cup curry leaves and fry. Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder and mix.
