Corn Payasam

Corn Payasam or Kheer for this festive season or any special occasion. A simple and easy recipe and a different one too. Tastes really super awesome and delicious. This is a simple kheer recipe that is made with grinding corn kernels and then cooking them with milk. You can make the kheer thin or thick as you prefer. Simple, easy, and flavourful. A delicious Indian style creamy sweet corn dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Corn Kernels
  • 1/2 Litre Milk
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery Grate
  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons Ghee
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cardamom

Instructions

  1. In a Mixie Jar grind 1 Cup of Corn Kernels into a fine paste. Prior we grind it store 2 Tablespoons of Corn Kernels without grinding.

  2. In a pan heat ½ Litre of Milk and let it boil thoroughly for 2 to 3 Minutes.

  3. In another pan heat 2 Tablespoon of Ghee and fry the 2 Tablespoon of Corn Kernels for 1 or 2 minutes and place them in a bowl.

  4. If you wish to add Nuts do fry them too.

  5. Now to the same pan add some more Ghee and fry the Corn paste on low flame for 1 or 2 Minutes.

  6. Then, will add boiled Milk to the fried Corn paste, add it slowly stirring it constantly to avoid lumps.

  7. Let it cook for 3 to 4 Minutes.

  8. Now, will add ¾ Cup of Jaggery grate, keep mixing it or stirring it till the jaggery melts.

  9. Then add the fried Corn Kernels and cook for a while

  10. Add ½ Teaspoon of Cardamom Powder to add flavor to the kheer.

  11. Add some more Ghee and put off the flame.

  12. Super awesome and delicious Corn Kheer is ready.

  13. When serving garnish it with some Nuts and enjoy a different and a new dessert.
