Ingredients

  • 1 KG Chicken
  • 1 KG Basmati Rice
  • 3 NUMBER Onions
  • 3 NUMBER Green Chillies
  • 3 NUMBER Tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 3 tbsp Salt
  • 4 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 12 pcs Cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 cup Fenugreek Leaves
  • 3 tbsp Butter

Let’s see how to make butter chicken biryani today.

Usually, butter chicken alone is very tasty. Try making biryani with butter chicken, you will surely be coming back for more

We need to marinate the chicken first
To cleaned chicken, add 4 teaspoons chilli powder, 3 teaspoons salt, 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 cup curd and mix

Mix thoroughly so that all the pieces are coated with the masala
Marinate for at least 1/2 hour

Wash and soak basmati rice for 1/2 hour atleast
Here, I marinated the chicken for 1 hour
Let’s roast the chicken now
Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a wide pan

Add marinated chicken to the heated pan
Put the pieces a little bit away from each other so that they roast nicely
Stir and fry on high flame

Let’s prepare masala in the mean time
Heat 2 teaspoons oil in pan
Add whole garam masala and mix
Then add diced onions, green chillies and fry
As onions start to change colour slightly, add tomato pieces and fry
Add 1/2 cup water and cook
Add cashew nuts and cut off the stove
Let’s check on the roasting chicken now
Chicken in also almost roasted now
Grind the prepared mixture into a paste
Let’s prepare rice in the meantime
Fill more than half of the pan with water
To the water, add 2-3 cardamoms, 2-3 small cinnamon stick pieces, 1/2 teaspoon shahjeera, 2-3 cloves, bay leaf and mix
Add 1 teaspoon oil.
Oil will not let the rice grains stick to each other
Add 1 teaspoon salt and let the water boil
Add soaked basmathi rice and mix
Close lid
Let the rice cook till up to 70%
We can tell if the rice is cooked by checking 2-3 grains of rice
Drain off the water and move it into a bowl
To the bowl in which we prepared masala, add 1 tablespoon butter
Add prepared masala paste and cook for 2-3 minutes
Add water, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 cup mint leaves, 1/2 cup coriander leaves and mix
Cook for a couple of minutes and add roasted chicken
Add cooker rice over the chicken
Spread butter on top
Clarified butter (ghee) could be used instead
Cut off the stove after 15 minutes
Serve hot!
