Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice Flour
  • 2-3 pcs Ginger Pieces
  • 7-8 pcs Garlic Cloves
  • 1 pc Onion
  • 5-6 pcs Green Chillies
  • Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 5-6 pcs Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Ajowan Seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tsp Salt

BIYYAM PINDI POORI

Let’s see how to make poori with rice flour

Here I took 2 cups rice flour
Let’s make green chilli-onion paste
To a mixie jar, add 2-3 ginger pieces, 7-8 garlic cloves, 1 onion, 5-6 green chillies and grind them into a coarse paste
Heat 2 teaspoons clarified butter (ghee) in a pan
Oil also could be used
Add prepared paste and fry for a minute
Add chopped curry leaves, a little over 2 cups water, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon ajowan seeds, 2-3 teaspoons sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon salt and mix
Boil the water
Put the stove on low flame and add rice flour
Mix
Cut off the stove, close lid and let it sit for 10 minutes
Move the mixture into a plate and knead it
Spread oil or clarified butter (ghee) on your palms
Take as much as mixture necessary and put a lid on the rest
Roll a small amount of dough over a plastic cover spread with oil
You can use a roller or press it with hands
Make small pooris or use a mould to shape it
These need to be deep fried now
Heat oil for deep fry
Check the heat by dropping a small amount of dough
Drop a poori and drop the next poori after it floats in oil
Fry on medium flame
Press after a minute and flip
Flip and fry till they turn golden brown
Serve hot!
