Homemade Biyyam Vadiyalu Recipe

Today's recipe is Rice Fryums (Biyyam Vadiyalu) , Easy to make and crispy to eat. We only require rice to make this recipe. No other flour is needed , we can dry them in shade only direct sunlight is not needed. Generally we call it as koradalu too. So Let us Start the Preparation of Biyyam Vadiyalu in Telugu.

Here I have used 3 cups of lard rice .
Will wash it and keep it aside.
For 1 cup of rice 3 cups of water is required to cook.
So for 3 cups of rice , I am using 9 cups of water.
Take a bowl add 9 cups of water and bring to boil.
Now will add the rice which we have washes and kept it aside.
Will add 2 teaspoons of salt to it or as needed.
Let it cook , stir it constantly till its cooked soft.
Lower / sim the flame , and place a lid on the bowl.
will cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on low flame with lid and switch off the stove.
Now I am adding 1 teaspoon of Ajwain , 2 teaspoons of Cumin seeds.
And 6 to 7 teaspoons of Sesame, it gives flavor and taste to the recipe.
Mix them all , thoroughly and let it cool.
Now will take Sewer pipe (Muruku achu) and star shaped mold.
We need to take a small portion of softly cooked rice mixture in the sewer pipe.
Press them on a cotton cloth in a required shape.
To make them dry we can use cotton cloth , Aluminium foil or even plastic sheet.
I have put them on cotton cloth under the fan to dry them.
As I don't get enough of direct sunlight.
Its hot these days , so it'll dry sooner fast under the fan only.
Generally in the evenings I get some sunlight in the balcony for sometime so I dry them There .
I made them dry for 2 days .
Take them off from the cotton cloth and put them in a plate.
After we put them in a plate , let them dry for couple of days.
We need to store them in a air tight container .
It can be stored for around an year.
To keep them fresh once in a while dry them in a plate and store back.
Now will fry them on medium flame.
Take a pan and add required amount of oil to fry them.
Crispy Fluffy Torques(vadiyalu/murkulu) are ready.
Its a great combination with Sambar rice or with Rasam.
It can be a good crunchy evening snack too.
