  • 2 cups Rice
  • 1/2 kg Tomatoes
  • 5 bunches Fenugreek leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 4 tbsp Sesame seeds
  • Salt

PREPARATION OF TOMATO MENTHI KURA VADIYALU

Crisps are everybody's favourite
They are a great combination with dal or sambar
Lets see how to easily make tomato, fenugreek leaves crisps
We don't need any flour for this recipe. Just regular rice will be enough
These crisps can be made and stored for upto a year
Heat 3 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice in a pan
Here I'm using 2 cups of rice, so I'll add 6 cups of water
After the water starts to boil, add 1/2 kg diced tomatoes.
Now add 4-5 bunches of fenugreek leaves
The quantity of tomatoes and fenugreek leaves is upto you
Add some mint leaves, coriander leaves and boil for a minutes
Tomatoes can be used as is or they can be ground into a paste
Now add washed soaked rice
Here I'm adding 2 cups of rice
Add 1 teaspoon chilli powder. Green chillies could be used instead. Combination of both red chilli powder and green chillies could be used
Add 1 1/2 teaspoon salt or salt to taste
Mix and close lid
Stir and cook on medium flame
As the rice mixture becomes thick, cook on low flame for 5 minutes and cut off the stove
Let it sit for some time till the rice cools down a little and move it into a mixing bowl
Now, add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 3-4 teaspoons sesame seeds and mix
Spread some water on your hands, take a small amount of dough and roll it into a ball
Now, press it on a cotton cloth or clean cover or aluminium foil.
These have to be prepared exactly like the spinach crisps prepared here
Here I used a cotton cloth
Dry them in the sun for 2 days or, dry it under a fan
To remove the crisps, spread some water behind the cloth and peel off the crisps
Let them dry again for 1-2 days
Tasty and health tomato fenugreek leaves crisps are ready!
Lets fry them now
Heat 3-4 tablespoons oil in pan
Drop the crisps and fry
Tomato fenugreek leaves crisps are ready to serve!
