  • 1 ltr Milk
  • 10-12 Dates
  • Dry fruits
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1/2 tbsp Cardamom powder

Preparation of TALBINA in Telugu

This is a very tasty dessert and has a lot of health benefits
Talbina kheer is made without sugar using dates, milk, barley, dry fruits and honey
Here I used 4 tablespoons barley seeds
Soak these barley seeds for a minimum of 4-5 hours
They can be soaked overnight also
We will also need 10-12 dates. Remove the seeds and chop them
Any dry fruits of your choice could be used
Here I used cashewnuts, almonds, pistachio and raisins
Heat 1 litre milk in a pan
After effervescence is formed on the milk, add the soaked barley seeds and cook on low-medium flame
Stir and cook so that the base doesn't burn
It will take 30-35 minutes for the barley to cook
Stir and cook. We can see that the milk is boiling and is becoming thick
After the barley seeds are almost half cooked, add the chopped dates, dry fruits and cook
Most of the sweetness in the talbina kheer is from the dates
Now add 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
We can see that the sweet has thickened
Cut off the stove and add 2 tablespoons honey
Mix
Talbina kheer is very tasty and also has a lot of healthy benefits
Garnish with dry fruits and honey
Serve hot or cold!
