Crispy Buttons Recipe in Telugu

Today, lets see how to make a tea time snack item - crispy buttons
These crispy buttons can be stored for upto a week
Here I used 1 cup Rice flour along with 1 tablespoon green gram, 1 tablespoon black gram and 1 tablespoon bengal gram.
Wash and boil all the lentils in pressure cooker for 4-5 whistle
Mash the boiled lentils
To 1 cup rice flour, add 1 teaspoon chilli powder, 1 teaspoon salt, a pinch of asafoetida, 2 tablespoons grated coconut, 1 1/2 tablespoon melted clarified butter(ghee), and mix
Then add the mashed lentils mixture and mix
Add water and knead the mixture into a soft dough
Spread a cotton cloth/ napkin on the counter
Take a small amount of dough and roll it into a ball
Press this ball in the centre using your thumb
Make sure that the pressed button is thick and even on all sides
Press only in the centre and not on the edges
Let them dry for 2-3 minutes in the towel
Heat oil for deep fry in a pan
We can see that dropped dough is floating. It means that the oil is sufficiently heated
Drop the buttons one by one in oil and fry on low flame
Fry on low flame only or else the buttons won't cook all the way
Fry these buttons after they turn crispy and move them into a plate
Crispy button are ready to serve!
These crispy buttons can be used for 7-10 days if stored in a air tight container.
