- 1 800gms Fish
- 2 Teaspoons Chilli Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoons Garam Masala
- 1/2 Teaspoons Turmeric Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1 Teaspoons Coriander Seeds Powder
- 1 Teaspoons Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoons Cumin Seeds Powder
Here, I took a fish of almost 800 grams. Clean the fish, cut it longitudinally and horizontally at multiple places as shown. Put cuts on both sides as shown. Putting cuts will make the masala spread evenly on the fish. Let's prepare masala. To a mixing bowl, add 2 teaspoons chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds powder, 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds powder, 1/4 teaspoon garam masala, 2 teaspoons salt or salt to taste, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix. Add 1 teaspoon oil and mix. Add water if needed. Don't make the paste too thin, make a thick paste. Apply this masala to the fish. Apply the masala in the previously made cuts also. Apply masala on both sides. Let it marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. It would taste even better if put in fridge. Coat the marinated fish with wheat flour. Wheat flour or corn flour or rice flour also could be used. Here I sprinkled flour using a strainer. Using a strainer will save the flour from going waste. Coat with flour on both sides. To a pan, add 2-3 tablespoons oil and heat it. Put the fish carefully on hot oil. Cook on medium flame for 5-6 minutes and flip using 2 spoons. Turn the stove to low after flipping and cook. Cook on low flame only. Cook for 15-20 minutes till the fish turns brown on both sides.
