How to Make Rava Lollipops or Suji pops

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Bombay rava
  • 1/2 Cup Rice flour
  • Green gram
  • 1 tbsp Chilli flakes
  • Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Curry Leaves

Lets see how to make rava lollipops or suji pops
Here I used 1/2 cup bombay rava, 1/2 cup rice flour and 2-3 tablespoons of green gram
Soak the green gram for 30 minutes
Heat 2 cups water in pan
Add 1 teaspoon oil, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon chilli flakes and chopped coriander leaves
Close lid and cook
Then add soaked green gram, 1/2 cup bombay rava, 1/2 cup rice rava and mix
Make sure that no lumps are formed
We can see that the rava has cooked and the mixture became thick
Close lid and cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes
Stir and cut off the stove
Then, let it sit for 10 minutes
Move this mixture into a mixing bowl
Spread some oil on your palms
Knead till the mixture becomes a soft dough
Then, spread some oil on your palms and make small balls out of the dough
Steam these rava balls
They can steamed in an idly cooker.
Or, just pour some water in a bowl and place a porous plate on top
Spread some oil on it and place the prepared rava balls
Cook on low medium flame for 8-10 minutes
Poke with a tooth pick to check if the balls are cooked all the way
Lets prepare tempering now
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan
Add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds amd fry
Then add some curry leaves and fry
Now add the steamed suji balls and mix
Rava lollipops are ready to serve!
