GONGURA CHICKEN PULAV
Lets see how to make Gongura Chicken Pulav in electric pressure cooker
Here I used 1/2 kg skinless chicken
Clean the chicken
Lets marinate the chicken now
Add 1/4 cup curd to the chicken
Marinating the chicken will give it a nice flavour and taste good
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon chilli powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, juice of half a lemon and mix
Let the chicken sit for a minimum of 1/2 hour
Soak 1/2 kg basmati rice for a minimum of 1/2 hour
Here I used sorrel leaves paste
This paste can be used to make other recipes like sorrel leaves fried rice, sorrel leaves dal, sorrel leaves mutton, etc
Sorrel leaves paste is nothing but fried sorrel leaves ground with fried cumin seeds, fenugreek leaves, garlic cloves and dried chillies
Link for the detailed recipe will be in the description box
Lets fry the onions now
Turn on the saute option of the cooker and add 1 tablespoon oil, 1 tablespoon clarified butter (Ghee)
It won't take long for the cooker to heat up
Lets add masala now
Add 2 bay leaves, 1/2 teaspoon shahjeera, 5-6 cloves, 2 small star anise pieces, 4 cardamom, 2-3 small cinnamon stick pieces and fry for a minute
Now add 2 diced onions and fry till they turn brown
Add 1 teaspoon salt and fry
Add 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder and mix
Now, add marinated chicken and mix
Add 2 diced green chillies and fry for some time
Fry till the water seeping out of the chicken boils away
Then add 2 tablespoons sorrel leaves paste
Add 1/2 cup mint leaves and mix
Add 1 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder, 1 teaspoon coriander leaves, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, powder, 1/2 cup corinder leaves and mix
Drain off the water of the soaked rice and add this rice to the chicken
Mix and add 3 cups water
For 1 cup of rice we will be needing 1 1/2 cup of water
Here I added 1 teaspoon dried mint leaves. This step is optional
Mix and close the lid
Cancel the saute option and set the pulav option
Pulav will be ready in 15 minutes
There will be a beep after the time is up and the food is cooker
Don't open the cooker lid immediately after 15 minutes since there will a lot of pressure inside the cooker. Release the steam and open lid
Open the lid and serve hot!
Serve this gongura chicken pulav with your favourite raita.
