Bellam Chapathi with Ghee Recipe
Bellam Chapathi is also known as Jaggery Chapathi and even Gur ki Roti. Bellam Chapathi with loads of ghee is a tasty and healthy recipe for kids. We can even pack this as a lunch box.
- 2 Cups Wheat Flour
- 1 Cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 Cup Jaggery Grate use as required
- 2 Teaspoons Ghee
- a pinch Salt

To a mixie jar, add 2 cups wheat flour

Add a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon melted clarified butter (ghee), 1 cup buttermilk and close lid.

Blend it into a fine paste.

The dough is ready now.

Move it into a bowl and knead it once.

Close the lid and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Here I used grated jaggery. Jaggery should be coarse.

Take a small amount of dough and roll it.

Spread some clarified butter (ghee) on top

Spread some more clarified butter (ghee) on top and sprinkle some grated jaggery.

Sprinkle some grated jaggery on top and fold the chapati on top.

Spread some more clarified butter (ghee) on top and sprinkle some grated jaggery .

Fold the chapati in half again and press it lightly.

Roll this prepared chapati in dry flour and press it again into a chapati.

Heat pan and place the rolled chapati.

Cook on a medium flame for a minute and spread some clarified butter (ghee) on top.

Oil or butter could be used instead.

Flip and spread some more clarified butter (ghee).

Flip and cook till the chapati turns brown.

Bellam Chapathi is ready now serve hot.
