Munagaku Pappu is very tasty and healthy vegetarian recipe , this Drumstick Leaves Dal tastes delicious with both rice and roti.
Ingredients
2 Cups Drumstick Leaves
1 Cup Red Gram
1 Tomato
5 Green Chillies
30 grams Tamarind
5-6 Garlic Cloves
1/2 ttable spoon Turmeric Powder
1 1/2 table spoon Salt
2 Dried Chillies
1/2 cup Curry Leaves
1/2 table spoon Mustard Seeds
2 table spoon Oil
1/2 table spoon Cumin Seeds
To a pressure cooker, add 1 cup washed red gram, washed drumstick leaves, 5 chopped green chillies, pieces of 1 tomato, washed tamarind, 3 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric.
Close the lid and cook for 4-5 whistles.
Let the cooker cool down and open the lid.
Mash the cooked dal. Add 1 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Chilli powder also could be added if desired.
Let’s prepare tempering now.
Then Grind garlic cloves coarsely.
Subsequently Heat a pan and 2 tablespoons oil.
Then Add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, pieces of 2-3 dried chillies and fry.
Add grinded garlic cloves and fry for a minute and Add curry leaves.
Then Add cooked drumstick leaves and dal and Add water as required.
Cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
This Drumstick Leaves Dal tastes delicious with both rice and roti.
