RAIL PALARAM

Let’s see how to make rail palaram.

This could be made as a snack or breakfast
This is a traditional breakfast item in telangana
This is a little time taking recipe but very tasty nonetheless
Here I made 3 kind of rail palaram, 3 different colours make the recipe look more interesting
Usually we make it with only rice flour, but here I also used spinach and beetroot
Very less ingredients are used to make this recipe
We need to make small balls with rice flour first
To a bowl, for 1 cup rice flour, heat 3/4 cup water
Add 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon oil and boil
To a mixing bowl, add 1 cup rice flour and the boiled water
Mix it with a spoon till it becomes a very soft dough
Move it into a plate
Wet your hands and knead it into a dough
After the dough is prepared, spread oil on your palms and make small balls out of the dough
Steam them now
Spread oil on a steel plate and steam the balls
Here, I steamed the balls by placing the plate over a bow
A steamer or an idly cooker also could be used
Close lid and boil on high flame toll the steam forms and then boil on medium flame for 10 minutes
The balls are ready now
Let’s prepare the tempering now

Green chilli paste is – 7-8 green chillies grinded with 1/2 cup coriander leaves and 1/2 teaspoon salt
Soak green gram for 1/2 hour

Heat 1 1/2 teaspoon oil in pan
Add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds and onions
Fry till onions become transparent
